what your sign man?

I think Fig is going to be a Pisces.

I'm having this feeling today that's just like everything is coming together. Everything is finishing up. Everything is falling into where it needs to be. I've gotten so much positive energy today - it's awesome.

And thank you everyone who has sent it - the Fig is so lucky to be born into a world where already he is so loved and has so many friends.

Fig's day is close, I can feel it.

Figgy's shower

Last night our dear friend Elizabeth hosted a super fun, baby-food (think mini-burgers, not strained peas) themed shower for Figget.

Most of the evening was spent laughing hysterically, overeating mini-chocolate cream puffs and predicting if I was going to go into labor on Tuesday or not.

Nerd baby in the making.

This little guy is so lucky to already have these wonderful friends and life here in Nashville! We are blown away by everyone's love, generosity and support during this pregnancy.

Fig - when are you going to come??? We want to see your cute little face and kiss all your toes!

37-weeks 3-days

I didn't get up from this spot for 4-hours last night when I watch every bad show on E! and ate a giant peanut butter and jelly sandwich after have already eaten dinner. I have these burst of energy (like Saturday) and then these days of totally exhaustion (like Sunday). I've been doing that thing that everyone said I was going to do: "nesting" - trying to make our little nest perfect for the Fig.

too much information

My belly button is soft and mushy - totally different than the rest of my belly that's super hard. I wonder if it's going to pop??? It's like the funniest thing that's happened in this pregnancy yet!

Oh wait - no, that was when I left for work this morning without my purse, but with the soy milk. I'm just a little preoccupied these days.

36-weeks 4-days

People were making comments today.

(sorry, I didn't realize it's been so long since we posted new pix!)

Maybe it's from all the hamentashen I ate yesterday. I made a batch as a thank you for my office for hosting a shower. Poppy seed and apricot - so good!

(note: these are not the ones I made - but I feel like I ate this many while baking!)

gs&p baby shower

Our first baby shower - hosted by GS&P:

Josh posing as an architect (you gotta see the shoes).

This cake was SO good!

Just seeing all these little gifts for us makes everything seem that much more real - and closer!!!

They know me so well - slip on sneakers with skull and crossbones!

I'm just constantly blown away by people's generosity - especially with no family here we are doing so much on our own to prepare for Figglets arrival. Really overwhelming what they did for us - so touched.

grandma Jojo

(picture from Thanksgiving this year - too busy to take any pictures this time around)

Mom was in town for 5-days while Josh was in Switzerland - she is a machine. Between reorganizing the house, cleaning the kitchen for 3-hours (was it really that bad???), and her amazing generosity, advice and constant love - I am blown away. But not surprised, because I have the best mom ever!

Sometimes it just takes motivation from an outside source to get things moving. We've been so in our own heads since we moved into this house that we were doing the minimum to get by. With her initiative - we have been inspired to clean, organize, and "nest" before the Fig's arrival!

33-weeks, 5-days

Josh is in Switzerland.
Figglet and I thought it would be fun to take some new pictures with iphoto for dad to see how much he's grown since Friday:

Rough day.
My wedding rings decide to stop fitting on my fingers. They are now on my angel necklace from meme that I wear every day. Starting to feel pretty puffy and uncomfortable.

This picture reminds me of when I was in college. I drew my self-portrait in blue crayon for drawing 101 because I hated the class so much.

Everything else is pretty status-quo for someone being 8-1/2 months pregnant.
Just tried, hungry all the time, and a zero patience for stupid people.

New fav' food:

Having a hard time watching or reading anything about the Octomom - her due date was right around Figglets.

you know what's amazing...

prenatal yoga.

Afterward, I feel like I just had a 2-hour massage. I go once a week, every Sunday night. Everyone in class is at different stages in their pregnancy and different levels in their yoga practice. It's much different than my regular practice (less expressive and more passive). I assumed that other women were further along than I am because of their size and what they can and cannot do - but today I come to find that I'm the furthest along besides one other woman who's about to pop. She's definitely my inspiration - I want to keep doing this until Figglets birthing day!

The Fig loves it too - he is usually very calm throughout class, but then at the end during the final meditation, he gets super wiggly. I still can't help but smile whenever I feel him rock out.

(don't worry, I brought snacks)

Yesterday we spent two hours at Babies R Us.

So many pregnant moms and bored looking dads.
What is some of this stuff???
I couldn't even make it down this isle:But you know what, it made me super excited for the new little Fig to come into our lives! Check out the registry and let us know what you think.

how are you feeling?

Hungry... all the time.

we can do this!

This is the class we are taking - it's amazing. The one thing that has truly helped me put fear aside for this journey that is only 10-weeks away.

And no, they don't swing a pocket watch over my belly and tell me to squawk like a chicken

28-weeks, 5-days

Back by popular demand - the white tank and yoga pants
(not sure how much further these will stretch!):

best wake-up ever

Every morning when the alarm goes off, I snuggle with Figglet for a good 20 min. I lie in bed, holding my belly in my arms and he starts wiggling and kicking to say hello.
